
Dr. Lizhou Huang obtained his bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering at Northwestern University and his medical degree at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University as part of the Honors Program in Medical Education. He completed residency in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he served an additional year as chief resident. He subsequently received fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Prior to joining Long Beach Gastroenterology Associates, Dr. Huang held the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine where he was heavily involved in teaching gastroenterologists-in-training.
His clinical interests include motility disorders of the esophagus, gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), gastrointestinal bleeding, and colon cancer screening and prevention. He has presented his research at national meetings and published in peer-reviewed journals. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS), and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
In addition to English, Dr. Huang speaks Mandarin Chinese and German.
